AI Training Agents Take Over as Your Mentor
Once you've passed the Stage 2 knowledge checks, four specialised AI agents activate. Together they simulate real childcare scenarios, coach you through them, evaluate your decisions, and feed back in plain language. The same four agents stay with you for life — evolving into Professional Mode at Stage 6 after you graduate.
Scenario Simulator
Generates realistic childcare situations — biting, separation anxiety, dietary concerns, parent disputes — calibrated to your stage.
Practice Coach
Walks you through each scenario step-by-step, asking what you'd do and why — and offering hints when you're stuck.
Performance Evaluator
Scores each response across child-centredness, safeguarding, EYFS application, communication, and reflective practice.
Mentor Agent
Personalised feedback on patterns over time. Suggests next scenarios, reading, or topics to revisit before live placement.
Non-clinical training support. AI training agents are a learning aid, not a regulatory assessor. Final competence is signed off by a qualified human assessor and a registered placement supervisor.
A Day in the Apprenticeship
Here's what one of the 40+ scenarios looks like. The AI sets the scene, you respond, and the mentor agent gives evidence-based feedback.
Scenario: Lunchtime Refusal
Age band: 3 years • Difficulty: Foundation
It's 12:15. Lily, 3, refuses her lunch and starts pushing food off the table. Two other children at her table look unsettled. What do you do first?
Kneel down to Lily's level, calmly acknowledge she doesn't want to eat right now, and gently move her plate while keeping the other children's space safe. I'd note she may not be hungry or could be unsettled.
Mentor Feedback
Strong child-centred response. Getting to her eye level and acknowledging her feelings is exactly right.
Coaching point: Also consider checking in with the unsettled children and noting Lily's behaviour for the keyworker handover. This supports your record-keeping duty under EYFS 3.69.
How the Performance Evaluator Scores You
Every scenario is rated across six competency dimensions mapped to UK childcare standards. You see exactly where you're strong and what to practise next.
